Sector shock: Half of Hong Kong financial professionals are open to leaving the industry

Despite recruitment in Hong Kong remaining at low levels and news of redundancies still making headlines, financial professionals living here show few signs of wanting to change locations. Safety, low tax and job opportunities are the main reasons why they are staying put.
But Hong Kong’s all-round appeal and the lack of hiring appetite from financial institutions are not enough to prevent people moving sectors. Financial employees are more than willing to consider local opportunities in other industries.
