Standard Life Investments is strengthening in equities and may need to replace recent leavers

Revolving door of redundancies and recruitment

A potential good sign if you're an equities fund manager: Standard Life Investments is strengthening its equities team.

Investment Europe reports that Standard Life has appointed a new head of global equities, Mikhail Zverev as part of the build and that it's rehired Wesley McCoy, a former UK retail and institutional high alpha manager at SLI who left to pursue charity work in 2008.

Standard Life may also need to make some new senior hires for its Global Absolute Return Strategy equity fund. Last week, three senior GARS fund managers - David Millar, Dave Jubb and Richard Batty, left for Invesco Perpetual.
