Recruiters in Asia enjoy exceptional 2021 but warn of skill shortages

As financial services hiring in Singapore and Hong Kong rebounded in 2021, staffing agencies in both cities cashed in. It was an exceptional year for finance-sector revenues at recruitment firms in the Asian hubs, with hiring generally exceeding pre-pandemic levels, according to eight senior recruiters who attended a round table discussion organised by eFinancialCareers. But agencies faced new challenges in 2021 as the supply of candidates, especially for technology jobs, failed to keep up with the surge in vacancy numbers.
