Unwanted Goldman Sachs MD reappears at Deutsche Bank after brief interlude elsewhere

As the tempo of hiring for investment banking jobs switches up a notch, people are resurfacing in new jobs at new organisations. They include Angelo Diotisalvi, formerly of Goldman Sachs.

As we reported here previously, Diotisalvi was let go by Goldman Sachs when it cut 3,200 jobs during the dark times of 2023. He'd worked there for nearly 19 years and was latterly the head of southern Europe financial institutions group (FIG) financing.

Diotisalvi was then rescued by Intesa San Paulo in London, where he became head of financial sponsors for the international business. However, he swiftly quit and is now back in the seemingly superior role of London-based managing director (MD) in Deutsche Bank's sponsors group.

Deutsche Bank declined to comment.

He is not the only MD with a new role in London. Simon Thwaites, a Barclays MD working on private equity financing solutions has joined Bank of America.
