Citi's head of Nordic investment banking appears to have escaped
Citi is hiring all sorts of bankers who are former colleagues and countrymen of Vis Raghavan, but it's also firing people and leaking senior talent.
Sources at the bank say the leakages now extend to Lars Ingemarrson, Citi's Stockholm-based head of Nordic investment banking, who was last seen lauding the bank's recognition as the best bank in both Sweden and Norway by Euromoney.
Citi declined to comment on Ingemarrson's exit, which doesn't appear to have been attended. Ingemarrson didn't respond to our enquiries. It's understood that Ingemarrson may be destined for Evercore. Evercore also didn't respond to a request to comment.
Ingemarrson's exit follows that of Casper Elnegaard, a managing director in Citi's Copenhagen investment banking team, who left for JPMorgan in June. He's due to start in October.
In the absence of Ingemarrson and Elnegaard, Citi's Nordic investment banking team is understood to include only Peter Wikström as an MD.
Wikström is a Rothschild banker who was hired in 2021. Ingemarrson had spent nearly 14 years at Citi after joining from JPMorgan in 2011.
