Ex-Goldman Sachs MD, Quadrature COO reappears building a new team
Matt Kilsby is back. The former chief operating officer of Systematica Investments, ex-managing director in Goldman's equities technology team and ex-COO of hedge fund/prop trading firm Quadrature, has got a new seat. And it seems that he may be hiring.

Kilsby didn't respond to a request to comment on this article, but in a post on LinkedIn, he says he's joined German electricity company EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG, where he will the new head of digital trading.
Energie Baden-Württemberg is based in Karlsruhe in South Western Germany, but has operations across Europe. Kilsby will be working hybrid while based in London.
Writing on LinkedIn, Kilby says he'll be building a quant and engineering energy trading team at the electricity provider. In this capacity, he will presumably be hiring.
His move comes as hedge fund Balyasny has been building a European power trading team by raiding a Danish energy company and as market making firms like Jane Street have been pushing into the area. Jane Street is currently looking for a US-based power trading analyst on a base salary of $300k. It's not clear whether Energie Baden-Württemberg will offer similar compensation, but it seems unlikely.
