Ex-UBS director in London takes private credit MD job at Macquarie
Working in private credit doesn't mean you have to stop working at a bank. Thibault Sauvage left banking for a Canadian pension fund three and a half years ago but, perhaps homesick, he has now returned with a promotion to boot.

Sauvage is joining the private credit team of Macquarie's asset management division as an MD and EMEA head of specialised infrastructure debt. He was most recently a senior director at Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ), having been promoted from director nine months after joining.
Sauvage spent 12 years in banking before his pension fund escapade. split evenly between HSBC and UBS. At UBS, where he latterly worked, he was a director and portfolio manager for its Archmore infrastructure debt platform.
He joins Macquarie Asset Management (MAM) at an interesting time; just yesterday, it completed a $1.8bn sale of its public asset management businesses to Nomura. Ben Way, head of MAM, said this will help the bank focus on its private markets teams. Maybe more like Sauvage will follow.
