Hedge funds are opening up internships in London for 2027
If you want to work in a hedge fund, you have two paths. The more common one is to be a top trader in a bank’s sales & trading team and move over. This is common, by industry standards. The alternative is to find a hedge fund internship. These are less common – but, if you’re a student in London, your chance to find one for next year has just opened.

The largest batch of internships that have recently appeared at quant fund D.E. Shaw. The firm is currently offering three internships in London in 2027: a systems engineering one, an investor relations one, and a trading/analyst one. It’s also offering a “systems administrator” industry placement year.
Point72 is offering a number of internships too, for both quantitative research and development both. Both internships can be done in London, New York, and Paris. The quantitative research opportunity is also available in Tokyo.
Multi-strategy fund Capula is also offering a trading and research summer internship, based in London. And, not a hedge fund, but electronic trading firm Aquatic Capital Management has two open internships – including for a quantitative research intern in summer 2027, either in Chicago or London.
Another hedge fund that appears to have internships open in London is Citadel. The firm currently has four listed internships in the UK, two of which can also be done in Paris or Zurich. There are two roles open for quantitative research, one for software engineering, and one for equities (analysis). The listings do not have listed dates on them nor any suggestion as to whether they are holdovers from last year.
And there are some internships that have already opened and closed. Millennium, for example, opened its investment internship back in February for London, Hong Kong, and New York. It's since been filled by 30 young aspirants and closed - more than the 20 that Business Insider reported earlier in the year that it was looking for.
Some internships are also open outside of the UK. Balyasny and Bridgewater have internships available, in Hong Kong for quantitative research and New York City for investments, respectively. And Florida-based quant fund Voloridge Investment Management also has a number of internships open in its Jupiter, Florida headquarters. Voloridge notes being “five minutes from the beach” as a benefit.
