Electronic trading firm IMC hired 450+ people as it grows in London, New York and Hong Kong
Amsterdam-based electronic trading firm IMC had a big year in 2025, as revenues rose 40% to $3.12bn. It had a lot of new faces helping it out; IMC said in its 2025 annual report that it made over 450 new hires in 2025, reaching a headcount of 1,900.

The firm didn't break down how many employees it had in each office, as it did in its previous report, but it noted that both London and Hong Kong were "growing." Those teams had ~20 and ~5 employees, respectively, in IMC's 2024 report. IMC officially announced its Hong Kong expansion in October, and is hiring for quants, traders and engineers in the region.
IMC said that "expanding [its] New York office... will be a key focus for IMC over the coming years." IMC has also grown in both India and Denmark, moving to a larger office in the former, and opening a brand new office in the latter.
IMC marginally expanded its internship class too. It hired over 220 in 2025, up from 200 the year prior. 55 of those are thought to have been in the US, where 29 were allegedly brought back full-time on up to $425k pay packages.
It wasn't just expensive traders being hired. IMC said it also "continued to expand [its] risk and compliance function in line with IMC's growing headcount."
IMC has seemingly struggled to hold onto some employees as well. Headcount in its 2024 report was 1,600, growing just 300, suggesting 150 people left.
