Morgan Stanley's ex-top strat seems to have left Rokos in London after a year
Rokos Capital Management is moving some of its people to Athens with Chris Rokos, its founder. When it does, it seems that Yingyi Chu may not be with them.

Chu joined Rokos a year ago, in September 2025 and was the macro hedge fund's head of equity investment quants. The FCA Register shows him leaving the UK entity at the end of July.
Rokos declined to comment on Chu's whereabouts. Chu himself didn't respond to a request to comment. Sources suggest that he's left the firm. It's conceivable that he's simply moved to another of Rokos' current offices (New York, Abu Dhabi, Singapore).
Before Rokos, Chu spent 3.5 years at Capstone Investment Advisors. Before Capstone, he spent nearly five years at Morgan Stanley, where he was head of QIS strats. Before that he was a strat at Goldman.
If Chu has left Rokos, he may be going on to something similarly exciting. One headhunter observes that it is a fine launchpad for a career at other funds. We cannot say who might be leading the equity investment quants at Rokos instead.
