Our client is a well-established Taiwanese corporate bank with a growing presence in Hong Kong. They are seeking an experienced Credit Approval professional to join their Credit Risk Management team.
Responsibilities
- Conduct independent credit assessment and review of corporate lending proposals submitted by Front Office teams.
- Evaluate borrowers' financial performance, business models, industry outlook, repayment capacity, and overall creditworthiness.
- Review and approve credit applications within delegated authority, or provide recommendations to senior management and relevant credit committees.
- Assess risks associated with corporate lending transactions, including bilateral and syndicated facilities, trade finance, and treasury-related exposures.
- Ensure credit recommendations comply with internal credit policies, regulatory requirements, and risk appetite framework.
- Monitor portfolio quality and identify emerging credit risks across sectors and client groups.
- Work closely with Relationship Managers, Legal, Compliance, and other stakeholders throughout the credit approval process.
- Prepare clear and concise credit opinions and risk assessments in both English and Chinese where required.
- Participate in portfolio reviews, policy enhancement initiatives, and credit-related projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
- Minimum 8-15 years of relevant experience in Credit Approval, Credit Risk, Credit Review, or Corporate Banking Credit functions.
- Solid knowledge of corporate lending products and credit risk management practices.
- Experience handling large corporate, commercial banking, or Greater China client portfolios is highly preferred.
- Strong financial statement analysis and credit underwriting skills.
- Ability to provide independent and balanced credit judgement.
- Fluency in Mandarin is mandatory due to frequent interactions with head office and Chinese-speaking stakeholders.
- Strong written communication skills in either English or Chinese. Candidates with strong Chinese credit writing experience are highly welcomed.
- Familiarity with Hong Kong banking regulations and credit governance frameworks is advantageous.
