A global trading firm is seeking a Python Engineer to help power its next-generation data and research infrastructure. You’ll be joining a high-calibre engineering team working on systems that directly support live trading and quantitative model development across global markets.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex data and engineering problems in a dynamic, production-driven environment. You'll collaborate closely with technologists and researchers to ensure the seamless flow of high-quality data throughout the business.
Your Role Will Involve:
- Developing scalable and efficient processes to collect, process, and maintain large-scale financial datasets
- Building robust pipelines and tools to support systematic strategies and quantitative modelling
- Improving reliability, transparency, and speed of data used in production trading environments
- Working primarily in Python, with opportunities to contribute to systems written in Java, Go, or C++
- Driving improvements in software reliability, test coverage, and deployment workflows
- Evaluating and integrating new technologies for high-throughput data handling
Your Background:
- Professional experience writing production-level Python, especially in data-intensive applications
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or similar technical discipline
- Familiar with software development best practices: CI/CD, automated testing, version control
- Strong analytical mindset and the ability to reason through complex problems independently
- Exposure to additional languages (e.g. Java, Go, or C++) is a plus
- Comfortable in a fast-paced setting where accuracy and speed matter
Extra Points For:
- Experience in quantitative trading, financial data engineering, or hedge fund infrastructure
- Understanding of modern data orchestration tools and data quality controls
- Familiarity with distributed systems, real-time data, or cloud-native environments
