Ixis pushes into fixed income

Ixis Corporate and Investment Bank' s Hong Kong arm is currently bulking up its sales effort with several hires into fixed-income and equity derivatives and plans to expand into North and South-East Asia.

Thierry Gunard, head of sales for Asia Pacific in Hong Kong, said the French group was moving "country by country" and already had Taiwan and Korea covered, reports Derivatives Week.

Ixis has hired Frederic Chan from Bank of New York to initiate fixed income sales for Taiwan. Dong Hoon Lee and Kisoo Park join the company from Deutsche Asset Management to lead fixed-income sales for Korea, with Isabella Woo from Deutsche Bank heading up alternative investment sales.
