Lehman builds in equity sales

Lehman Brothers has marked its commitment to expanding its Asian business with the appointment of Christopher Wendel, previously of Goldman Sachs, to head its equity sales practice for Asia.

Wendel is charged with the task of broadening Lehman's equity client franchises throughout Asia and Japan, FinanceAsia reports.

Wendel is the latest in a line of recent hires. Lehman recent recruited Dr Wei Yen as managing director and head of ratings advisory for Asia, Juhi Prasad as senior vice president, head of leveraged finance for Asia, Hiroshi Wakutsu as head of global finance in Japan, and Terence Lim as head of global finance solutions for Asia.

More junior and mid-level hires are likely as the bank builds out teams beneath the new heads of business areas.
