Siddhartha Soni, a trader and executive director at Standard Chartered in Singapore, has left for a hedge fund.
Soni joined Complus Asset Management earlier this month as a Singapore-based portfolio manager, according to his LinkedIn profile.
He was with Stan Chart since September 2019, working as a rates and FX trader in emerging/frontier markets.
Prior to that, Soni spent more than 12 years as a trader at JP Morgan, latterly at ED level. He began his career in India in 2003 on the proprietary trading desk at ICICI Bank.
Soni’s new firm, Complus Asset Management, is headquartered in Hong Kong and was established in 2011 by Stanley Ku, former Hong Kong head for Fortress Investment Group, and Chester Kam, who was from Singapore-based Alphadyne Asset Management.
Complus primarily provides institutional investors with solutions in rates and FX, which is presumably why Soni’s sell-side experience in those areas made him a good hire.
It has about 24 employees, according to LinkedIn, five of whom are based in Singapore.
