DBS poaches from Deutsche as part of crypto push
DBS has hired Kirill Petropavlov from Deutsche as SVP of digital assets management, crypto and equities.
His hire follows the announcement late last month that DBS has rolled out self-directed crypto trading via DBS digibank, enabling mass-affluent wealth clients, who are accredited investors, to trade cryptocurrencies on its DDEx platform, one of the world’s first bank-backed digital exchanges.
Petropavlov posted on LinkedIn that he is “proud” to be part of the team launching this new crypto trading offering. Use of DDEx was previously limited to corporate and institutional investors, family offices and clients of DBS Private Bank and DBS Treasures Private Client.
Singapore-based Petropavlov spent just under two years as a VP, data, technology and innovation, at Deutsche Bank, “advising and delivering the bank's innovation initiatives”, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Having started his career as a developer, Petropavlov worked for Standard Chartered in Singapore between 2016 and 2019, latterly as an AI and data analytics lead.
He then moved to Bank of Singapore, for one year and eight months, as director, AI innovation.
