Cantor Fitzgerald succumbed to East European offshoring

Cantor Fitzgerald is hiring in Poland.

The brokerage firm is looking for nine new staff in Warsaw, working across operations, finance, compliance, and technology, of course. The vacancies are for international support roles, with a senior tax role noting that it requires liaising with offices in the UK, EMEA, and APAC.

Cantor Fitzgerald’s website does not mention a presence in Poland at all. The jobs may be the start of a new office there. 

Warsaw is a popular option for nearshoring, with investment banks like Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan already heavily invested in the city, as well as hedge funds such as Point72 and Balyasny.

UBS has a huge presence down the road in Krakow, some 5,000 people. BNY Mellon has its own massive presence in Wroclaw – around 3,000. Morgan Stanley has a 3,000-strong Budapest office.

Cantor Fitzgerald declined to comment.
