Morgan Stanley hired Goldman Sachs' head of China credit trading

Morgan Stanley has lost quite a few people from its credit trading business, but it is not all one way traffic. There has been a hire, too, ostensibly quite a large one.

Morgan Stanley isn't commenting, but sources at the bank say it's hired Deyue Hu, a Goldman Sachs trader who is self-described as the bank's head of China credit trading. Hu's SFC licence says he left Goldman on February 11th 2025. He will be based in Hong Kong with Morgan Stanley.

Prior to joining Goldman in 2020, Hu worked for Mizuho and on the buy-side.

While Morgan Stanley is hiring new credit traders, it's still leaking them, too. Max Au, a VP level credit trader at the bank in Hong Kong is understood to have resigned.
